BE PART OF AN EXCITING SURGICAL CAREER! This program teaches students about surgical procedures and human anatomy as they become experts in sterile techniques and in implementing instruments and technologies to assist the surgeon during surgical procedures.  It begins with Medical Terminology and CPR, then moves into Microbiology and Fundamentals of Surgical Technology, while simultaneously learning hands-on skills in the lab. Students then progress into Anatomy and Physiology I and II, along with Surgical Procedures I and II. During the Surgical Procedures coursework, students will complete two levels of clinical experiences at a designated hospital operating room.

The student will complete a minimum of 125 surgical cases spread across various surgical specialties to sit for the credentialing examination. Graduates are eligible to sit for the national certification (Tech In Surgery – Certified) with the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) upon successful program completion.

Graduates can expect to gain employment at hospitals, surgery centers, and physicians’ offices or use the credential as a stepping stone for further advancement within the healthcare field.
