This full-time program is designed to prepare students for a career as a health professional in multiple settings.  Students will learn the administrative and clinical side of medical assisting, along with phlebotomy skills for use in a physician’s office, hospital laboratory, and outpatient settings. On completion of courses and clinicals, students are eligible to sit for the following certification exams: CCMA – National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam. CMAA – National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Medical Assistant Administrative (CMAA) exam. CPT– National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam.

Students will participate in 144 hours of unpaid clinical experience in both the physician’s office and an approved laboratory. Training prepares students for jobs that are in very high demand.  Per the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Medical Assistant career is expected to grow by 14% and the Phlebotomy Technician by 8%, a much faster rate than average growth for all other occupations.
