To become a police officer in the State of Ohio, one must successfully complete a basic training program approved by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission and pass the state certification test. Each section of the program must be passed with a 78% or higher to continue in the program: Firearms (9mm Pistol and 12 Gauge Shotgun), First Aid (CPR, AED), Critical Injury First Aid, Standardized Field Sobriety Training (SFST), Subject Control, Driving, Stops & Approaches, Hazmat & Weapons of Mass Destruction, Incident Command System (ICS), National Incident Management System (NIMS), Patrol Aspects & Overview, Building Searches, Impact Weapons, NHTSA Speed Measurement Device Training (RADAR & LIDAR), Physical Training Final Test (50th percentile of the Cooper Standards). MOVE FORWARD IN YOUR TRAINING TO MOVE UP IN YOUR CAREER! This part-time program is designed to transition the student from the Firefighter I level to the advanced level of Firefighter II. Firefighter II knowledge, skills, and abilities learned during the course build upon the Firefighter I concepts. Comprised of incident report writing, flammable liquid live fires, fireground command, evidence preservation, pre-incident survey and equipment maintenance, it is the second level of standards-based certification available to firefighters in Ohio. Prerequisites: NFPA Physical including Pulmonary Function Test (PFT), Ohio Firefighter I certification is required for admission to the course, Hazmat Operations Course (24 hrs), “Everyone Goes Home” Life Safety Initiatives, Successful completion of Physical Agility test (Firefighter Mile), Successful completion of Emergency Vehicle Operations course (16 hrs) $200.00, and Successful completion of CPR/FA course (8 hrs) $100.00. If a student has an EVO certification and CPR/FA card, the fee will be waived.
Upon successful completion of the program, course objectives and course skill tests, and with 100% attendance, graduates are eligible to sit for the ODPS State Certification Examination to be certified at the Firefighter II level, and may apply to receive a National Pro Board certification. STEP UP TO THE NEXT LEVEL OF TRAINING IN EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES! This part-time program provides instruction in advanced patient assessment and management techniques in preparation for the National Registry Paramedic Exam. Meeting the new National Curriculum standards, training includes 500 hours of classroom/lab, 200 hours of hospital/clinical, and 200 hours of field experience.
Students may have to travel and pay for the National Registry Paramedic Scenario Psychomotor Examination. Fees include one voucher to take the National Registry Paramedic cognitive exam which is a Computer Adaptive Test (CAT). Prerequisites: Ohio EMT or AEMT certification and Anatomy & Physiology.

This part-time program gives students the skills to provide the foundation of emergency medical care and transportation to the sick and injured. Based on the National EMS Education Standards, training includes basic patient assessment, patient management skills, and techniques in medical and trauma emergencies. The five-month schedule consists of 196 classroom/lab hours and 36 field experience hours in preparation for the National Registry EMT certification exam. Students are required to have a clean background check free of any felonies to test with the National Registry of EMTs, and to obtain their State of Ohio certificate to practice.

Fire Safety Inspectors (FSI) are responsible for inspecting buildings and occupancies for fire code compliance. This course prepares firefighters to understand and interpret the codes to successfully certify as an ODPS/NFPA Fire Safety Inspector. Students are responsible for bringing copies of the 2017 Ohio Fire Code and Ohio Building Code. All ODPS certification exams are held following the successful completion of the class.

The Dental Assistant Program is designed to prepare students for a rewarding career in the dental field, offering comprehensive training in clinical and administrative skills. This program equips students with the knowledge and hands-on experience necessary to assist dentists and dental hygienists in various settings, from private practices to specialty clinics.
Students will learn key skills in dental procedures, patient care, infection control, radiography, chairside assistance, dental software, and office management. The curriculum includes both classroom instruction and practical experience through practicum in real-world dental offices. Graduates of the program will be prepared to take the Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) exam and the Ohio Dental Radiographer Exam and can pursue entry-level positions as dental assistants, orthodontic assistants, or administrative dental support roles.

ENJOY A REWARDING HEALTHCARE CAREER! This part-time program teaches students the required skills for taking care of patients/residents/clients in a healthcare setting. One hundred percent attendance is required. After completing the program, which includes 16 hours of hands-on care in a healthcare facility, graduates can sit for the on-campus Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) exam. Potential employment opportunities include working in long-term care facilities, hospitals, assisted living, skilled facilities, home health, hospice, and private duty. Graduates can continue their pathway through the Practical Nursing program and LPN to RN Diploma program at EHOVE.
No Class Feb 17 & Mar 12
Move quickly into a new career with this 2½ month occupational program where 72 hours of the 196-hour program are delivered online! This very short training is a great way to enter the healthcare field and will help students obtain careers in a variety of healthcare settings obtaining blood samples and non-blood samples for laboratory testing. The program includes Medical Terminology, PersonAbility, and a Phlebotomy Skills course. Students will do online training at home and then come to EHOVE two evenings a week for skills lab training and testing. Instructors are available for individual work when necessary.
At the finish of the program, students will attend clinical training Monday through Friday to enhance their skills before sitting for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). The phlebotomy profession is on the Ohio In-Demand Occupations List. Multiple employment opportunities include; hospital laboratories, outpatient clinics, physician offices, blood banks, and insurance companies.

AN EXCITING AND FLEXIBLE CAREER USING TOUCH FOR HEALING! This part-time program provides a variety of massage skills, business practices, and relevant medical information for students to become a Licensed Massage Therapist in Ohio. These highly trained individuals use touch to provide treatment for medical conditions, injuries, or wellness maintenance.
Students attend classes three evenings a week and all day on Friday to complete the program in eight months. Each section below must be passed with a 78% or higher to continue in the program: CPR, Medical Terminology, Advanced Anatomy and Physiology, and Massage Theory with therapeutic massage techniques.
The program also includes the ethical responsibilities, business strategies, and accounting principles associated with a successful career and being a business owner. Upon completion of the program, the graduate has three months to take the MBLEx exam which is required for licensure in Ohio.
Per the Bureau of Labor Statistics: Massage Therapy is growing at a rapid rate of 32% faster than other careers. Multiple career opportunities include working as a private practitioner, in a hospital, medical or chiropractor’s office, at a sports venue, or with the spa and resort industry.

Qualify for Three Certifications at Once in a Hybrid Program!
This full-time hybrid program is designed to prepare students for a career as a health professional in multiple settings. Students will learn the administrative and clinical side of medical assisting along with phlebotomy skills for use in a physician’s office, hospital laboratory, and outpatient settings. As this is a hybrid course students will learn at home through self-study and module practice and then come to EHOVE for testing and lab practice (instructors are available for help). On completion of courses and clinicals students are eligible to sit for the following certification exams: CCMA – National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam. CMAA – National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Medical Assistant Administrative (CMAA) exam. CPT– National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam.
Students will participate in 144 hours of unpaid clinical experience in both the physician’s office and an approved laboratory. Training prepares students for jobs that are in very high demand. Per the Bureau of Labor and Statistics; The Medical Assistant career is expected to grow by 14% and the Phlebotomy Technician by 8%, a much faster rate than average growth for all other occupations.
Some classes are virtual. Clinicals are Monday through Friday.
MOVE INTO A FIELD THAT CAN HAVE A BIG IMPACT! This full-time program provides the skills needed to help people of all ages gain skills needed for daily activities, such as redeveloping dressing and/or cooking, working to rehabilitate arm function/cognition after a stroke, or helping children with handwriting. Training includes 16 weeks of full-time fieldwork in two different settings because occupational therapy assistants work in schools, rehabilitation centers, and skilled nursing or outpatient facilities.
The 24-month schedule includes a preadmission semester and a summer semester. Upon successful completion, students will receive an Associate of Applied Science degree through LCCC, and be eligible to sit for the national certification exam to become a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
Admission to the program is competitive with 25 students admitted each fall. Students must be accepted as LCCC students and will sign up for LCCC classes. BE PART OF AN EXCITING SURGICAL CAREER! This part-time program teaches students about surgical procedures and human anatomy as they become an expert in sterile techniques and implementing instruments and technologies to assist the surgeon during surgical procedures. It begins with Medical Terminology and CPR, then moves into Microbiology and Fundamentals of Surgical Technology, while simultaneously learning hands-on skills in the lab. Students then progress into Anatomy and Physiology I and II, along with Surgical Procedures I and II. During the Surgical Procedures coursework, students will complete two levels of clinical experiences at a designated hospital operating room.
The student will complete a minimum of 125 surgical cases spread across various surgical specialties to sit for the credentialing examination. Graduates are eligible to sit for the national certification (Tech In Surgery – Certified) with the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) upon successful program completion.
Graduates can expect to gain employment at hospitals, surgery centers, and physicians’ offices or use the credential as a stepping stone for further advancement within the healthcare field.
BE A PART OF TOMORROW’S HEALTHCARE TEAM! This part-time program teaches students how to apply knowledge, skills, and abilities in delivering patient/client care in various settings. Training includes medical terminology, basic science, theory and practice, and nursing over the lifespan, and ends with professional issues and preceptorship.
After completing the 15-18 month program, graduates can typically sit for the Ohio Board of Nursing Licensure – NCLEX-PN within 2-4 weeks of graduation. Licensed practical nurses (LPNs) can work in physicians’ offices, hospitals, home health care, and long-term care facilities.
Graduates can continue their career pathway through the LPN to RN Diploma Program at EHOVE to become a registered nurse.
TAKE THE NEXT STEP IN YOUR NURSING CAREER! This part-time program provides the LPN with a guided pathway of transition to the RN role. The curriculum, designed with academic and clinical focus, engages students in evidence-based practice concepts while advancing the clinical judgment and reasoning skills necessary for optimal patient outcomes in today’s healthcare landscape. Students actively participate in lab, simulation, and clinical care for patients in the obstetric, pediatric, mental health, and medical-surgical nursing arenas. Aspire Tutoring is an Ohio Department of Education program offering free educational services to those 18-years (also available to 16 and 17 year olds with permission) and older in the State of Ohio. As such, we are required to have learners fulfill registration requirements prior to admittance to a class: take the TABE standardized test, fill out our registration paperwork, and attend a mandatory orientation.

WORKKEYS® TESTING IS REQUIRED FOR ALL OCCUPATIONAL PROGRAMS
Incoming students will take the ACT® WorkKeys® tests, Applied Math, Graphic Literacy, and Workplace Documents. An $81 non-refundable test fee must be paid at the time of registration. Testing lasts approximately three hours. Any student needing accommodations should notify the Adult Counselor and have proof of ADA disability approved before the test date. A valid photo ID is required on the day of testing. You will not be permitted to test without a valid photo ID.

GED®:
EHOVE is an official test site for GED®. First-time test takers are eligible for a voucher code worth up to $80 by emailing kdickman@ehove.net or leaving a message at 419-504-1537. Individuals who are 16 and older, have withdrawn from school, and have not earned a high school diploma are eligible to take a high school equivalency test. Parental consent is required for those who are 16 or 17 years of age. Students must register online for the test of their choice and submit all required documentation to the Ohio High School Equivalence Office.

FREE CAREER PLACEMENT SERVICES
As a service to area employers, we can match employers with qualified students and alumni. Employers are invited to submit employment opportunities by calling 419-499-4663 x344. These opportunities will be made available to current students and job seekers who receive training at EHOVE Career Center.
ADMISSIONS POLICY & PROCEDURE: To enroll in one of EHOVE Career Center’s occupational programs, a student must submit a valid high school transcript or GED transcript (exception: Admissions — Exception to Standard Procedure policy). Foreign high school diplomas are acceptable if the diploma has been validated as equivalent to a U.S. high school diploma. Students with such diplomas are required to have them validated by a credential company that offers such services. Please visit the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services at www.NACES.org to view a list of evaluators. These transcripts will be reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis. Students must also meet testing benchmarks on WorkKeys® placement tests. Some programs have additional requirements. Individual program admission requirements are available by contacting EHOVE Career Center main office. All students interested in occupational programs are required to attend an information session. ADMISSIONS – EXCEPTION TO STANDARD PROCEDURE: EHOVE Career Center requires a valid GED or high school transcript for admission into most occupational programs. EHOVE Career Center recognizes several occupational programs that offer an ability to benefit when the student does not have a GED or high school diploma. These programs are Nurse Aide/Home Health Aide, EMT, and Firefighters I, II, and Transitions. These programs have been identified based on requirements for students taking the appropriate licensure exam(s) and by our continual monitoring of industry hiring practices. Select additional programs that may be eligible for Ohio’s Options Adult Diploma Program(ADP); please contact the EHOVE Career Center main office for further information at 419-499-4663 x280. Current EHOVE high school seniors may also be eligible for select occupational programs with additional guidelines. For more information, please reference the student handbook on the EHOVE website.
ATTENDANCE: All occupational programs have a 90% or higher attendance requirement. The following programs have a 100% attendance requirement: Cosmetology, Esthetician, EMT, Paramedic, Police Academy, Firefighter I, Firefighter IT, and Firefighter II. Check your specific program handbook for details. Regular class attendance is of primary importance for success.
VBTA POLICY: EHOVE Career Center by the Veterans Benefits and Transition Act of 2018 will not impose any penalty, including the assessment of late fees or denying access to classes, libraries, or other institutional facilities, or the requirement that a Chapter 31 or Chapter 33 recipient borrow additional funds to cover the individual’s inability to meet his or her financial obligations to the institution due to the delayed disbursement of payment by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs. This policy is limited to tuition funds the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs pays.

TRANSFER: Due to the nature and setup of program-specific requirements for the transfer of credits, please speak with our counselor (419-499-4663 x335) for program-specific information. This would include students wishing to transfer between programs within EHOVE Career Center or transfer into EHOVE from other institutions.
FACULTY AND STAFF: All instructors are qualified practitioners in their area of instruction with a minimum of three (3) years of related work experience and are certified instructors by the Ohio Department of Education.

CONFIRMATION OF COURSES: Once registered, plan to attend the course as scheduled. You will be contacted only if the course is canceled or rescheduled. We reserve the right to postpone, discontinue, combine, or cancel a course before or on the first-course meeting date. We attempt to contact all students if courses need to be canceled. All tuition, application, supply, and book fees are refunded if we cancel a course. Career test fees are non-refundable.
