This instructor-led, hands-on course allows students the opportunity to explore and become familiar with aviation in addition to practicing and learning the skills necessary to be a safe and efficient remote pilot. Students will be able to obtain their TRUST certificate as part of the course. Students will learn the knowledge and skills needed to take the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Exam, understand different types of drone equipment and their uses, be knowledgeable about the uses of sUAS in multiple fields, and be able to operate equipment both manually and autonomously for a variety of purposes. Practice tests are available to help students prepare for taking the Part 107 exam upon completion of the course.

This course explores the various careers in aviation that use drone technology such as public safety, land management, forestry, photography, surveying and engineering. The goal of the course is to provide each participant with an understanding of pilot responsibilities, flight safety, unmanned aircraft systems, and rules for recreational flyers. Students receive instruction on how to operate sUAS (small unmanned aircraft) and hands-on training with real drones. This introductory course provides the opportunity for students to take The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST) FAA for Recreational Pilot certification.
Course cost includes a small drone for participants to use and take home. All participants will use the same brand/type of drone for ease of instruction.
This course will focus on basic communication using American Sign Language (ASL). Participants will learn basic signs, sign parameters, fingerspelling, classifiers, and syntax of ASL. Have you ever wondered how to get a deaf person’s attention from across the room? That question and more will be answered as we discuss deaf culture. Throughout the course, there will be many opportunities for “hands-in-the-air” practice and fun!

Patty is a Licensed Physical Therapist with 25 years of clinical experience. She has been practicing yoga for over two decades and became certified as a yoga instructor a few years ago. As a PT, she observes people’s postures and movements. She would notice the potential for injuries and long-term damage to people’s spines and joints due to improper cueing or inadequate instruction in other yoga classes. She also knew the profound benefit of incorporating a safe yoga practice into her physical therapy patients’ rehab programs after being discharged from her care. Out of a need to combine traditional medical treatment and alternative healing, she created Yoga Physical Therapy classes to allow people with pain and mobility problems to practice safely and with less pain. It’s a unique blend of rehab science and traditional yoga.
